Online SVG nesting for laser cutting, no download needed
Fit more pieces on every sheet and waste less material. Desktop nesting software like Deepnest works, but it needs installing and doesn't run on every computer. The WeldWords nester packs your own SVG and DXF files by their true shape, right in your browser.

Short answer
Upload your SVG or DXF files, set copies, sheet size and spacing, allow rotation, and download each nested sheet as a true-size SVG or DXF. No software to install.
Built into WeldWords
WeldWords packs pieces by their real outline with optional rotation, keeps holes with their parts, lets you resize one file or all of them, and exports each sheet separately at true size.
The tutorial explains what WeldWords is doing for you, plus what to check before you cut.
What you need
- Your SVG or DXF cut files
- Your material sheet size
- The gap you need between parts
- Any modern web browser
Step by step
Step 1
Open the sheet nester
It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download or install, and it works the same on Windows, Mac and Chromebook.
Step 2
Drop in your SVG and DXF files
Upload several files at once. Each one keeps its real size from the file, and its holes stay with it.
Step 3
Set copies and size
Choose how many of each piece you need. Resize one file, or scale every file together, without opening another program.
Step 4
Pick the sheet
Enter your material size in mm or inches, flip the orientation if your bed is portrait, and set the gap between pieces for your kerf.
Step 5
Allow rotation and nest
Pieces are packed by their real outline, not their bounding box, with optional rotation so odd shapes tuck into each other.
Step 6
Export each sheet
Download every sheet as its own SVG or DXF at true size, ready for LightBurn, xTool Creative Space or Glowforge.
Tips that save material and time
- Set the gap a little wider than your kerf so parts don't touch.
- Turn rotation on for organic shapes; leave it off for grain-sensitive wood.
- Files saved from the photo tracer and Word maker show up in your nester file box.
- Flip the sheet orientation instead of re-typing width and height.
Questions people ask
Is it a Deepnest alternative?
It covers the same job — true-shape nesting of SVG and DXF parts — in a browser, so there is nothing to install. It is not affiliated with Deepnest.
Does it change my shapes?
No. Pieces are moved and, if you allow it, rotated. Their outlines and holes are not edited.
Is it free?
You can try it free. Ongoing exports are part of the WeldWords subscription — see the pricing page.
Which files can I upload?
SVG and DXF. Several at once is fine.
